Na, na, na, na! I beat you! I beat you! |
Every time I feed the dogs I have this crazy notion that they are actually "sitting down" to a meal and I suddenly have a half hour to myself while the dogs have "dinner." You'd think after setting each bowl down and practically turning around to pick them back up, this fantasy would die a slow death.
**SIGH**
Nobody said being a dog lover meant having all my marbles and well, after living with six dogs I'm entitled to have lost a few along the way!! p.s. special Paw Prayers for all of friends in the wake of Hurricane Irene. Our paws are all crossed for you!!

15-30 seconds here for all but Phantom. Amazing how quickly we can all eat. Phantom likes to eat more slowly IF he eats. Sort of reminds Mom of Thanksgiving dinner when she works for hours to prepare the meal and it is over and done with in no time at all.
But we see it as a testament to how grateful we are for our yummy food.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
It only take our dogs about 1 minute to eat but it takes me 30 minutes to add all the supplements and space the dogs in different rooms
I hear you! I feed all but Maggie outside. Head out with a bucket and fill each bowl...quite an adventure and it is over quickly.
They can make every carefully prepared meal a "fast food" experience, can't they???!!!
Ha ha ha! We used to put Kongs in our fast eater's bowl to slow him down so everybody else had time to eat theirs. It seemed like he could just look at it, inhale and it was all gone!
My cats eat each meal as though they have not had food in at least a week. The food is practically gone before I can even set the bowls down on the floor!
The dogs eat so quickly. I had to get Casey (the Lab) one of those special bowls with the bubbles underneath, to try and prevent bloat. He's such a pig. Layla eats quickly, but not enough where she needs a special bowl! Then, as soon as she's done she tries to inspect his bowl to see if he left anything. Like that would ever, ever happen. Oh well...she can dream too!
Nice to meet ya'll. That's a mighty big pack you have!!!
I get about 30 seconds, but that's only because Henry spends so much time licking his empty bowl.
My guys are a bit fussy but right now they're enjoying what I'm feeding them so it's gone pretty quickly. Frankie likes to eat his in Beryl's crate so she won't come and steal his food. He'd be quite happy to share his with her, but she won't share with him, lol.
LOL! I don't know why, but I suffer from the same syndrome. I always think that if I can just feed them first I will have time to make my dinner and relax for a bit.
This is never the case, but I keep dreaming!
Hope you're having a good weekend! I'm a little late to the hop this time.
The exact reason I'm a big fan of food toys. I can't tell you it takes Honey half an hour to empty a Tug-A-Jug or Kong Wobbler. But I probably get up to 15 minutes of peace. :)
Yep, it must be a rule or something that food can't be in the bowl longer than 30 seconds! I have one dog that likes to savor her food, so I have to stand guard over her to make sure none of the other dogs steals her food. And the older she gets; the slower she eats. LOL
