Why I Prefer Dogs

A dog doesn't lie.  A dog doesn't hide his feelings regardless if you are there or not.  A dog doesn't run behind you and stab you in the back.  A dog is up front with his feelings, his body language will tell you all you need to know.  A dog  has no fear in being who they are.  A relationship with a dog is based on honesty because he has the balls to stand by you. A dog isn't a friend one minute and then ditches you the next.  Dogs are direct and to the point, they don't beat around with excuses.  Dogs step up to the challenge.  If there is miscommunication, it is on our part.  Humans are the ones who that can't stand up for what they think, say or do.  Humans must confuse the hell out of a dog because dogs can't understand the language of a coward.

I think that says everything just about perfectly

Agreed, you said it perfectly. Also, I read somewhere that "the dog is the only one who, no matter how late you get home, how you smell or where you've been, will still be happy to see you".

I totally agree! That is why I have 3 of them!
Dogs are there for you no matter what and they don't judge you:)

Exactly. How perfect an explanation.

All very true! I came to the realization today that when Layla acts silly, it's usually because she thinks I'm upset about something. In obedience especially when I'm concentrating hard, it seems like she thinks I'm worried, and then she starts acting funny (chasing her tail, woo-wooing, etc) trying to cheer me up. It's the opposite of what she "should" be doing, as pertaining to the exercises, but it's so nice to have a dog who wants me to be happy!
